The Cultural Arts Studio
School of Afro-Caribbean Dance

Established in 1994, The Cultural Arts Studio School of Afro-Caribbean Dance is committed to the preservation and sharing of Afro-Caribbean culture through dance.

Our programs are designed not only to teach dance but also to promote the development of well-rounded, culturally aware and strong principled young persons.

We believe that the process of learning and sharing our unique culture fosters an appreciation and respect for all traditions and diversity.

Our programs are creative and energetic, drawing strength from ancestral, folkloric and contemporary themes.

Our repertoire of choreographies is alive with afro-caribbean dance fusion and includes a potpourri of rhythm and movement vocabulary that is unique, invigorating and celebratory.

We believe that afro-caribbean dance is more than just dance or bodily executions. It is about movement and the expression of emotions.

Our classes are held every Saturday at the Crichton Cultural Community Centre located at 200 Crichton Street, Ottawa.
